If Google Voice doesn't work out for you then try Onesuite VoIP service. It's not free but it's cheap and it is prepaid.

sunrocket was number 2 but just closed their business. The current deal for unlimited calls is from Lingo.com but if you want like only 500 calls than viatalk.com has good deal if you sign up for 24 months

Vonage.

There are so many out there that have the same features (online voicemail, two lines, cheap international calls etc.) I used to think they were about equal until my beloved Sunrocket went under without telling a soul. 100,000 customers all lost phone connection and had to deal with changing companies, trying to keep their phone number and loosing connectivity.

It was then that I decided Vonage and the extra $ 5 a month was worth it. Go with a big name, it provides consistency.

The problem is there is a VOIP war going on right now as it is new and expected to be the future of phone service. Some will loose carrying their customers with them.

If that doesn't solve it for you here is a great comparison chart to look at http://www.comparevoipservice.org/

It depends on what you need. They are so many out there offering different package and plans, choose the one the fits your need best. Just always consider the "911" concerns.

If you have any experience in networking techniques, you can save considerably by installing their own VoIP ATA (analog telephone adapters) or IP PBX.Me like to use the Linksys SPA2102-NA ATA 2 line configured to connect to companies VoIP as Callcentric.http: / / www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US 2FLayout% cid = 1146582254856 & pagename = Linksys% and 2FVisitorWrapper 2FCommon% and lid = 5485693890B02Sin But the Linksys SPA9000 IP-PBX device it is licensed for 4 line license configurable and expandable up to 16 líneas.http: / / www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US 2FLayout% & cid = 1139414817110 and pagename = Linksys%% 2FCommon 2FVisitorWrapperTambién may want to look at hybrid TalkSwitch PBX and IP devices: http://www.talkswitch.com/us/en/products/phoneSystems/244vs.aspxEntonces, there is the option of installing their own solution IP-PBX server software with the 3CX IP-PBX Corp: http://www.3cx.com/Cualquiera of the above solutions are user's hardware and software solutions that require some experience internal network in the user side . So it's only a matter of finding a BYOD (bring your own device) as Callcentric VoIP provider, or Les.net InPhonex. These are the VoIP companies that allow them to supply their own equipment, set yourself and connect to their transport services via your VoIP account. These companies do not require contracts and are strictly pay-as-you-go "prepaid calling solutions VoIP.Si you do not have some technical knowledge to create their own VoIP systems of the house, then you may consider a Hosted VoIP solution from Packet8.
